Q. I'm getting an error when I try to download the Free Trial. Either it is not
working or I'm getting a message about a possible virus.
If
you are not able to download the Free Trial, check your browser's security
settings. They may be set to prevent the downloading of any files. [In Internet
explorer see Tools | Options | Security]. You might also check with your network
administrator for help in resolving this problem.
Virus concerns are real. Anytime you download a file (or install a file) to your
computer, you could be introducing a virus. A virus is normally introduced
through email as an attachment and is always initiated by a malicious
person. Some programs like Norton will warn you whenever you download a file
that you could be introducing a virus. You should not be concerned when
downloading our software. Since you are initiating the download, and you know
the web site from which you are downloading, you can be assured that there is no
virus problem.
For additional peace of mind... Save the file to disk, and then check the file
with a virus scanner before double clicking on the file (which initiates the
install).

Q. I'm getting a download warning.
Some web browsers (primarily Internet
Explorer) look for an
"Authenticode signature." This is a third party software offering.
Because we wish to keep our costs low for you we do not use this signature
service.
If
the file does not have an Authenticode signature, your browser may (depending on
your settings) display a warning message. Since you are downloading and installing this file
from this web site or directly from a link in an email we sent you, you should
feel comfortable installing it, despite your browser's warning.
The
"Authenticode signature" warning does not mean that there's anything
wrong with the file you're downloading, nor does it mean that this file is
unsafe or that it comes from the wrong source. It simply means that this file's
download process does not include this authentication service.

How
do I install my new license.?
Q. I ordered the program license. How do I get it to work?
These instructions assume that you've already downloaded and installed the Floor Schedule program
(see Free Trial above). At this
point the license file is all you need. This is the file you downloaded when you
ordered the program.
1. Use My Computer to find the file named FSLIC_1YR.EXE, the license install
file for Floor Schedule. It is most likely on your desktop unless you
chose to have it downloaded to a different directory when you placed your order.
4. Double click on this file.
5. Click the UnZip button in WinZip Dialogue box. (Do NOT change "Unzip to
folder"... It needs to go in the same directory as Floor Schedule 2002.
6. Success Message pops up! Click OK.
7. Hit CLOSE button on WinZip Dialogue box.
8. Your new license file is installed.
You run the program by clicking on the
'Floor Schedule 2002' clock icon on your desktop or you may: Click the Start button, Click
Programs, Click Floor
Schedule 2002.
You will need to set up your schedule. See Floor Manual above.
If you have problems you may email us your scheduling times and we'll be
glad to send a suggested site set up.

Installation Error
Q. Installation Error: Cannot Update scrrun.dll.
You have an older version of this Microsoft file. Ignore this error and the program will most likely run OK using
the older version. If it does not, go to the Microsoft website www.windowsupdate.com and update your operating system
to the latest Microsoft released files.

Scheduling
and time slots
Site Numbers vs. Letters.
Q. How do the numbers entered on the Site screen relate to the agent time slots?
There are three time periods for each day. Each period contains 2 or more time slots. These time periods are represented
by AM, PM, and PM2. An agent may be entered as off for any or all of these time periods, but not for an individual slot.
AM can hold up to 2 slots (A&B). PM1 can hold up to 4 slots( C&D&E&F). PM2 can hold up to 2
slots (G&H).
To have one agent on in the morning, and 2 in the afternoon you might enter '1' under AM and '1' under PM1 and '1' under
PM2.
Once you have established your slots, you can indicate that you want a time to be printed in place of the letter by using
the Schedule Times menu.

Wheres The Agent?
Q. One agent isn't showing up on the schedule. What's wrong?
Check the Agent Information screen for that agent. Did you enter a site number for which
the agent is available to work? Also, check the Agt's Max Duty Times field. If set to 0,
the agent will not be scheduled. Finally, check the Agt's 'Cannot work' or ' Can
only work' fields. If
you've incorrectly entered any dates and times on, they will not be recognized.

Where's my other site?
Q. I entered two sites but Floor Schedule only printed one? Why?
If you put a letter in the LINK field of any one site, there must be a matching letter in
the LINK field of another site. Make sure that the letters match each other or, if you do
not want any linking to occur, than this field is empty (space bar) for all sites.

Two Agents For Each Duty Period
Q. Two agents are assigned to work each duty time. Can Floor
Schedule handle this?
Yes.
If site has 4 or less duty times per day then simply enter twice then number of duty times
twice when entering the site information. This effectively results in 2 agents being
assigned for each duty time. Thus, if you have 2 duty times per day - one in AM and one in
PM1 - each with 2 agents, enter duty times on your site schedule as 2 in AM and 2 in PM1.
Floor Schedule will now assign 2 agents in AM and 2 agents in PM1.
If a site has more than 4 duty times per day then use the LINK feature to bind two sites
together on one calendar.
The LINK will give you a fairer schedule where the position of the two agents is
important. For example, where the second agent is a backup and so a less desirable
assignment. Using the LINK feature also allows you to designate Teams of agents.

AGT?
Q. AGT? appears on my schedule instead of an agent name. Why?
You do not have enough agents with available time to cover all duty times. As a result,
AGT? is printed. To correct, check the following:
Fine tuning Is it too restrictive? Fine tuning should be set to Automatic. The
number of days off requested by agents, is it too many? 'Agent Max Duty Times',
are some set at zero or too low? This should be 99, except in special
cases. Also check that agents are indeed assigned to the site.

No one is
scheduled to the Site I created
Q. I entered another site but no one is being scheduled to
it? Why?
You must assign each agent to the site that you want scheduled on that
site. See the Agent Information screen. Also read, "Where's my other
site?" above.

I entered a time but it
is not showing up on the schedule
Q. I entered a time slot but I can't find it and no one is being assigned to that slot.
Check
your Site information screen. Have you entered a slot for the day of the week
that matches the slot you are entering a time in? Even though a slot letter is
highlighted on the ‘Show Times’ setting screen, it may not be available for
that particular day of the week.

Problem with Linked Sites and Times
Q. All the times I entered for my Linked Sites are not showing up.
With Linked Sites, enter the times for both sites in time slots of the Site with the Highest Site number
of the two. This is also the case with the Site Name. The program displays the Site Name of the Site with
the highest Site number of the two linked sites.

Can't see all
my agents on the calendar
Q. On the generated schedule, agent's at the end of the day are cut off.
You may change the 'day height' on your calendar using
the menu item Settings | Calendar Settings. You may also adjust the font here,
which can also reduce or increase the amount of day height space needed to
display all your agents on each day.

Names are wrapping into two lines.
Q. My names are wrapping into two lines on either the display or the printed schedule or both.
You can do three things. You can use Initials instead of full names. You can shorten the number of letters that you
allow for full names. You can reduce the font size. All of these settings are found under the Calendar Settings menu.
For the printed calendar, you can print in Landscape mode. When the printer dialogue box appears, choose the Properties
button. Then Select Landscape Mode.

Printing
Two page calendar.
Q. When I print the calendar it prints out on two pages. I only want it on one page.
Make the height of your printed day smaller. This
setting is found under Calendar Settings. A lower number shrinks the height of
each day. If you make it too small however, you may hide some of your
agents. You can also adjust the calendar day font settings so your agent
names take up less room. You can also choose Landscape mode when printing.
Landscape mode can be found under the Properties button of the Print Dialogue
box after you initiate the printing of the calendar.

Calendar will not print.
Q. When I say to print I get a question asking if I want to view or print assignments by agent. If
I say no nothing happens. If I say yes I get a report but not a calendar OR I get an error.
If you see an
error, try changing the print fonts. These can be
changed under the Settings | Calendar Settings menu.
A number of users with HP printers have reported the calendar simply doesn't
print. In this case, it is probable that you need to install the PostScript
driver (also shown as PS) for your printer.
Floor Schedule uses a printer language called PostScript to print the
graphics calendar. Most printers today are able to understand PostScript,
however some HP printers use a printer driver (language translator) that does
not. By default these printers instead use a language driver known as PCL. This
driver cannot read PostScript so it is unable to print the calendar. The good
news is that HP does have PostScript drivers available for its printers.
You may already have the PostScript driver you need installed! When you print
your Floor Schedule you are presented with a dialogue box. Pull down the list of
available printers in that box and see it you have a selection for your printer
that uses the postscript driver. It may say 'PostScript' or simple 'PS'. Is so,
always select that one to print your Floor Schedule.
If you do not have the HP Postscript driver for your printer
you will need to install it. It may be on the CD that came with your printer or,
you may download it directly from the HP web site.
The following is a link to the HP website. Use it to find the
postscript driver for your computer. If clicking on it does not take you to the
site, use your search engine to find 'HP POSTSCRIPT DRIVERS'. HP
Website.
Once you are on the site...
1. Select 'Software and Driver downloads'.
2. Enter your product (printer) name.
3. Download the driver described as 'PostScript' or 'PS' driver for your printer
type
Here are more helpful instructions on how to install the Postscript driver.
1. Download the driver to your hard drive. Note where you download it to so
you can find it. I suggest you download it to 'Desktop'. Then you can easily
find it on the screen when done.
2. Create folder to save driver file(s) into. I use "C:\HPDriver"
3. Double click on the downloaded driver file to 'unzip' it. Specify the folder
you created as the destination to unzip the files to. [Note. You must own Unzip
to complete this process. A free trial version is available at www.winzip.com
4. From your task bar choose: Start | Settings | Printers. Double click on 'Add
Printer' wizard.
5
.
Follow the wizard instructions. When you get to the Printers selection page
choose 'Have disk', then browse to the folder you created, the one that holds
the unzipped driver files.
6.
Point to directory you saved driver file(s) to.
7. Follow the on screen instructions.
Another suggestion:
Use
the free pdf995 program, which can be found at the link below. Once installed,
you will be able to save the generated Floor Schedule calendar as a PDF file!
You can then print it anytime you like. You can also distribute the file to
others. Here's how it works:
a.
Go to the web site and install the free version of this program.
b. Generate your Floor Schedule.
c. Press Print.
d. Instead of choosing your default printer in the Print Dialogue Box, select
‘PDF995’ from the drop down list.
c. Give the file a name and save it.
d. Open it and print it.
To
open a PDF file, like this one, you will need Adobe Acrobat (also free) or other
program. We have a link to download this free product on this website under Manual.
Here
is the link to this product. We have no affiliation with this company and I
can't guarantee the program, but I can say I've tried it and like it! You'll
probably find many other uses for it as well.
